The land we live on, the cycle of life and the power of natural beauty are themes explored in this 6-minute work.
‘I choreographed on 12 mature dancers all over the age of fifty, who actively contributed to the choreography. By creating a piece which utilised haunting imagery and of a well-known iconic Perth landscape, we explored and celebrated life and its many complexities.
In collaboration with visual artist Emma Fishwick, we filmed at one of Perth’s most famous beaches at sunrise, with the light at its most brilliant.
Using contemporary dance as our vocabulary, I positioned the dancers in the water, on the rocks and the foreshore as the camera moved amongst the individuals, capturing intricate movement.’
