Preludium: pre = before, ludere = to play.
This dance is the playing before the playing. It’s the meeting, the tuning in, the foreshadowing of what is to come, an abridged version of a nonexistent longer work.
It presents a team of individuals negotiating a series of improvised tasks, games, and set sequences in order to connect with each other.
Unified by their constant attempt to find togetherness, they are required to be extremely present as they move through different performative modes and musicalities.
The journey they take highlights the different skills, ideas and beliefs each team member holds within them, and most importantly the vivacity and joy they feel when they dance.
